Fertility Law Group hosted "From Generation to Generation: An Introduction to Building Your Family with New York's New Surrogacy Law"
06/30/2021The Fertility Law Group hosted "From Generation to Generation: An Introduction to Building Your Family with New York's New Surrogacy Law" at Congregation Sons of Israel in Briarcliff Manor, New York with a diverse group of experts in the fertility/surrogacy space.
The event was designed to educate intended parents and the public on what the path to surrogacy looks like now that the Child-Parent Security Act has made compensated gestational surrogacy legal in New York State. It was sponsored by Warshaw Burstein, GoStork, an online fertility marketplace, and Shady Grove Fertility.
The panel, many of whom have been directly affected by infertility, discussed the entire journey: the value of using an agency to help find a surrogate and navigate the process, to how the new law works to protect all of the parties involved, as well as the host of legal documents needed from birth to estate planning, to a glimpse into the medical assessments and procedures required.
